Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

WIC is The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. WIC gives you resources, knowledge and tools to help you and support your family. It’s free for moms, dads, grandparents, foster parents and all Colorado families who qualify, regardless of status or citizenship. Whether you’re pregnant, already a mom or raising a child younger than 5, you can get the right personalized support for you and your family.

WIC’s goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women and children younger than age 5 healthy. WIC provides funds to purchase healthy food, breastfeeding support, personalized nutrition counseling and recipes, and help connecting to other health services.

Am I eligible?

  • Those eligible for WIC are pregnant women, those breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age, new moms who had a baby or were pregnant in the past 6 months, babies and children younger than 5 years.
  • WIC welcomes all parents and caregivers! If you are a dad, grandparent, foster parent or any caregiver of a child under 5 years of age, you may get WIC for your child.
  • You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for the WIC program. WIC does not collect information about citizenship or immigration.
  • Individuals receiving SNAP and other public benefits are automatically income-eligible for WIC.
